The Ministry for Education in India has issued a notification regarding scholarships sponsored by the Romanian government for Indian students. The notification says that Romania is offering scholarships to 20 students from India during 2022-27 under a cultural exchange programme.

Students pursuing any university course, except in the medical field, are eligible for the scholarships. The offer is valid for the academic year 2024-25. The course could be at the undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level in Romania.

Those interested and fulfilling the qualifying conditions can submit their application forms before May 26. Complete details on the scholarships are available on the Education Ministry’s official website.

The scholarship grants are available for recognized bachelor and master courses in the Romanian language. Grants are also offered for recognized doctoral courses in English and French.

The grants will cover tuition and enrolment fees; expenses on accommodation within the limits of the subsidy; monthly scholarship allowance and health insurance. Indian students will be eligible for discounted fares on railways and other public transport, similar to their Romanian counterparts.

Who can apply?

Applicants should not hold a citizenship of Romania, European Union, Swiss Confederation or European Economic Area.

Those applying for bachelor's and master's programmes should not be aged above 35 years.

Similarly, 45 years is the age limit for PhD and post-university studies.
